Muna Abdulahi is an Award-Winning, Somali-American, International Spoken Word Poet based in Minneapolis MN. She was ranked the 8th woman poet in the world at the 2018 Women of the World Poetry Slam Competition. As well as a 3x MN Grand Slam Champion. Muna has performed in many U.S. states and international countries, including the honor of being the featured poet at the historic first all-women St. Paul City Council Inauguration. Her work has been published/featured in POETRY Journal, Button Poetry, Minnesota History Center, and more. She was awarded the Frederick Bock Prize. In her work, she explores many themes of belonging and identity, particularly in the context of migration and nationality. As a writer/poet, Muna pushes herself to tell the stories that are erased, silenced, devalued, or buried, the stories that are difficult, and the stories that bring together communities, youth, and discussions.
