Muna Abdulahi is an Award-Winning, Somali-American, International Spoken Word Poet based in Minneapolis MN. She was ranked the 8th woman poet in the world at the 2018 Women of the World Poetry Slam Competition. As well as a 3x MN Grand Slam Champion. Muna has performed in many U.S. states and International countries. Her work has been published/featured in POETRY Journal, Harvard Advocate, African Journal, Button Poetry, MN History Museum, StarTribune, and more. In her work, she explores many themes of belonging and identity, particularly in the context of migration and nationality. As a writer/poet, Muna pushes herself to tell the stories that are erased, silenced, devalued, or buried, the stories that are difficult, and the stories that bring together communities, youth, and discussions.
