We hope to see you Friday, 12/8 at @pfunctionary for the opening of BEARING WITNESS, a sound and spatial installation honoring Gaza’s martyrs, organized by Mizna, UMN Students for Justice in Palestine, and Public Functionary.

A gathering to mark the opening of this installation and to mourn the loss of life in Gaza will take place on December 8, 2023, at 6 pm. This event will feature poetry reading beginning at 7 pm from local poets Yara Omer, Willie Nour, Sagirah Shahid, Nikki Lewis, Meg Amad, Aziz Bisanz, Su Hwang, Chaun Webster, Sun Yung Shin, Sana Wazwaz, and Muna Abdulahi. The installation will be available for viewing through the end of December 2023.

This is a free, in-person event, and masks are encouraged to keep everyone safe.
